East Seattle Elite (ESE) is a spring/summer select basketball program that is operated out of the Mercer Island Boys & Girls Club. We offer tryouts for both girls and boys grades 3rd-8th.

This does depend on your coach and your team’s overall skill level. All teams will practice 2x a week beginning in mid March.

Most teams will participate in our Spring Peak League which runs on Sundays 3/29-5/10, and a playoff weekend 5/16-5/17. Teams may select 1-2 tournaments to do in June or July.

More competitive teams will opt to do only do tournaments around the PNW. These teams typically choose between 5-6 tournaments and end their season in July.

Tryouts are a non-refundable $10.00.

If you make the team and do not already have a 2025-26 BGC Membership, you will need to purchase one prior to the first practice. It is $50.00.

The team fees vary from team to team. These costs can roughly be anywhere between $600-$1,000.00 depending on the number of tournaments entered, coach cost, and overall practice time. We will give each a team an estimated cost once all tournaments are registered for.

This is not aa suitable program if it is your first time playing basketball.

This will all depend on the number of kids who tryout from each gender/grade. We cannot give any definite answers until after tryouts.
